Peter Hsieh

Dr. Hsieh has been a venture capitalist for 15 years, of which 8 years in Silicon Valley, and 7 years in China. Prior to his venture capital career, his industrial experiences involved engineering, sales, marketing, finance and operation. He started his VC career with InveStar Capital, H&Q Asia Pacific, then with Harbinger Venture as Partner. Previous investments include Oplink (Nasdaq: OPLK), OmniVision (Nasdaq: OVTI), Ultima Interconnect (NYSE: CDN), and LXN (NYSE: JNJ).

Dr. Hsieh moved to Beijing from Silicon Valley in 2004 to start AsiaVest's Beijing office. In China, he has invested in and remains an active board member of iSoftStone (NYSE: ISS, a leading China-based provider of outsourced technology services, including consulting & solutions, IT services and business process outsourcing services,) Lattice Power (a Chinese LED chip company with disruptive technology and IPs,) and Leyou (China's largest baby products retailer with internet and catalog channels, plus 150 directly owned physical stores.) Other than iSoftStone that went public on NYSE in 2010, all deals have made significant business progress and received large subsequent round financing.

Dr. Hsieh received a BS in Mech. Eng. from National Taiwan University in 1986, MS & PhD in Engineering from Stanford University in 1993.
