Minister Dr. Christina Y. Liu

Dr. Christina Y. Liu is currently the Minister of Council for Economic Planning and Development (CEPD), Executive Yuan (the Cabinet), Republic of China (Taiwan). She received her Ph.D. in Economics and MBA in Finance and Marketing from the University of Chicago. Before joining CEPD in May, 2010, She was the Chief Economist and Chief Economic Advisor for Chinatrust Commercial Bank in Taiwan and Daiwa Institute of Research (DIA) in Japan, Economic Advisor to the President of Taiwan and the Executive Yuan, member of the Taiwan's Tax Reform Committee, Chief Advisor of the Chinese National Federation of Industries (CNFI) and International Committee Chair for the Taiwan Financial Services Roundtable (TFSR). She had served two terms as a legislator in the Legislative Yuan (including as Finance Committee Chair), and had been teaching as a Professor at the National Taiwan University, Tsinghua University (Beijing), the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Visiting Professor at the University of Australia, and Assistant and Associate Professor at the City University of New York. She had also been a long-term columnist for Business Today, The Journalist, The Commonwealth, China Times, United Daily News, Economic Daily News and Apple Daily News in Taiwan.
