J. Peter Chen

J. Peter Chen heads Principal Investments for the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB) in Asia, responsible for private equity investments across Asia out of CPPIB's $140 billion global portfolio.

Prior to joining CPPIB, Mr. Chen was Principal and a founding team member at Bain Capital China, a global private equity firm which sponsors Chinese enterprises.

Mr. Chen was previously General Manager and founder of General Electric Corporate Financial Services in Taiwan with focus on special situation investments across Greater China.

He is currently Deal Network Ambassador of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO)'s Pan Asia Chapter, and formerly served as Governor and Chairman of the Capital Markets Committee at the American Chamber of Commerce in Taipei.

Native of China, Mr. Chen completed his education at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, Keio University in Tokyo, and Harvard Business School. He communicates in Chinese, English, Japanese and Italian.
