Thank you to our sponsors, speakers and delegates for making the AVCJ Private Equity & Venture Forum \ Taiwan 2009 a remarkable success.  The second annual event was a distinctive gathering of the leading senior local and overseas private equity professionals, including GPs, institutional investors, corporations and professional advisers.

Opening the proceedings was Dr. Chi Schive, Chairman of the Taiwan Stock Exchange Corporation.  Dr. Schive shared his views on the unique and emerging opportunities in the local stock market which have arisen from the improved relations with China.  Providing another aspect of the cross-Straits relationship was the dialogue between CDIB’s Paul Yang and CITIC Capital’s Yichen Zhang which highlighted Taiwan’s position and further benefits of the closer ties.

Dr. Paul Wang, Managing General Partner of Pacific Venture Partners, later spoke about the effects and advantages of the new MOU regulations on the Taiwan venture capital industry in his keynote address.
